In the new, consumer driven era of transportation and logistics that depends increasingly upon technology, the importance of trans-shipment hubs such as the Khalifa Port at Abu Dhabi cannot be overstated. They continue to consolidate their role as integral parts and focal points of the global demand fulfilment machine.

As the owner and operator of the terminal at Khalifa Port Abu Dhabi, CSPADCFS has benefited from a long-term focus on reducing costs, improving productivity and asset utilization, and streamlining and automating processes. We have invested heavily in infrastructure to meet the surge in GCC ports handling capacities, from about 45 million standard containers in 2012 to an anticipated 100 million in2022. But it is not only capacity building that is our strength. We are pleased to have achieved among the best asset utilization, revenue per ship, and return per unit of cargo handled from among GCC ports.

Our timely expansion into inland logistics has improved transparency and reduced friction in trade flows. We have begun to reap dividends from securing inland trade systems, improving supply chain resilience, safeguarding operational continuity, and delivering reliable and transparent logistics services.

On a more personal note, we are happy to have prioritized the safety of our people with the requisite emergency response procedures to ensure that we remain open for business. Our investment in digital solutions has reduced direct employee interactions, remotely managing such tasks as document management, customs payments, and even access points. We now have digital capabilities to capture cargo, better manage capacity, and even conduct seamless cross-border trade. And we have happier employees making it all happen!

As we move ahead, it is time to renew our commitment to maintain our position as Abu Dhabi’s flagship deep water port that provides state-of-the-art, semi-automated facilities and maritime infrastructure. As the gateway that serves the growing economies of the wider GCC region, we are well-positioned to benefit from the opportunities that may arise in future.
